Explore The 2021 Highlander & Highlander Hybrid

Are you looking for an SUV that can keep up with your busy lifestyle? Do you need an SUV that can handle the early morning carpooling and that can be versatile enough for all your cargo? If so, the choice is easy: the 2021 Toyota Highlander. Equipped with convenience features you’ll love and safety technology you can depend on, the Highlander is an easy choice.

What’s New for 2021?

For its latest model year, the Highlander features more aggressive styling, a unique wheel design, additional sleek exterior accents and a sportier drive. Sitting on available 20” wheels, the Highlander’s sleek body contouring, contrasted against angular LED headlights, emphasizes its unique silhouette. But its design does more than turn heads. It also delivers greater aerodynamic efficiency for enhanced vehicle stability.

There are so many ways to make the latest Highlander your own. This SUV is available in 8 exterior paint options. And better still, you’ll have 12 different interior upholstery options to choose from! Ranging from cloth to leatherette finishes, available in 9 different colours, you’re sure to stand out in a Highlander that’s completely unique to you.

And the Highlander offers more to love than just a fresh, new aesthetic. This SUV also offers versatility, driver-focused features, ample passenger and cargo space and performance capability you’ll love.

Passenger and Cargo Capability

The 2021 Highlander offers 3 rows of dynamic cargo capability. Depending on the trim you choose, the Highlander offers seating for up to 8 passengers with available 2nd-row captain’s chairs. Second-row seats also come heated on select trims.

To maximize cargo space, the Highlander offers fold-flat 2nd-row seating and 60/40 split fold-flat 3rd-row seats. So, even larger, awkward-size cargo can be stowed with ease. And loading cargo is even easier, thanks to the available hands-free power liftgate.

Let’s Talk Tech

The Highlander’s interior design puts the tech features you love right at your fingertips. You’ll notice the interior’s driver-focused elements, like the intuitive central console that puts your controls close at hand. The Highlander is also standard equipped with an 8.0” infotainment touchscreen, offering integrated Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth capability and more.

For an even more enhanced entertainment experience, you can opt for the available 12.3” touchscreen display, offering integrated navigation, 10” head-up display, JBL Premium system and rearview mirror digital display. You’ll also have available Connected Services by Toyota. Connected Services offers a suite of technology features, including:

  • Audio Plus
  • Safety Connect
  • Remote Connect
  • Service Connect
  • Navigation and Destination Assist

Powertrain Options

Gas

The 2021 Highlander is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering 295 horsepower. But along with great power, it also offers great fuel efficiency: 10.3L / 100km of combined fuel efficiency, in fact.

This Highlander engine option even allows up to 5000 lbs. of towing capacity, so you can take everything with you on the road. You’ll also have the confidence of Trailer Sway Control to help restrict unwanted trailer movement.

Hybrid

For even greater fuel efficiency, the Highlander is available in 4 hybrid trims! Equipped with a 2.5L, 4-cylinder hybrid synergy engine, you’ll receive 243 horsepower as well as the capability to tow up to 3500 lbs. You can also count on a fuel efficiency rating of 6.7L / 100km.

Highlander Hybrid trims offer Drive Mode Select: 4 different drive modes to provide you with variety. Eco mode makes the most efficient use of gas and battery power, while Normal mode is the best option for everyday driving. EV mode lets you drive using electric power only at low speeds for longer distances, and Sport mode provides you with a more exciting acceleration experience.

The Highlander Hybrid is self-charging through regenerative braking, so you’ll never have to worry about plugging it in or running out of battery. Best of all, Toyota hybrid models require no additional maintenance – Toyota’s hybrid models follow the same maintenance schedule as gas models.

Smart Safety

The 2021 Highlander comes equipped with 8 driver and front passenger airbags, as well as front and passenger knee airbags.

In addition to the safe design, the Highlander is standard equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5: a suite of active safety technology to enhance driver and passenger protection. With Toyota Safety Sense, you’ll have the confidence in these standard features:

  • Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection
